Colony Collapse Disorder

Managed honeybee colonies has dropped 50% since the 1940s, yet the need for pollinizing bees increases.

About Colony Collapse Disorder

What's the Problem?

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the number of managed honeybee colonies has dropped from 5 million in the1940s to only 2.5 million today. At the same time, the call for hives to supply pollination service has continued to climb. This means honeybee colonies are trucked farther and more often than ever before.

When one couples this frightening phenomenon with that of global warming (with transpiration of goods being a key factor within this environmental tsunami) along with shortages of pure, unadulterated, honey, one can only conclude that what had once been considered a minor "pest" problem by many home and business owners is now a major global concern.
