The Good Stuff
Backyard Bees' honey comes from the local hives we rescue and manage. We use a honey extractor and the gravity strain method to produce a pure, unfiltered, unadulterated raw product.
Backyard Bees honey is made from a variety of Orange County garden, herb, fruit tree and mixed floral blossoms creating a honey that is both delicious and uttery unique.
We package by hand (in units of 1 pound—in glass or plastic bottles) and fill orders individually.

Did You Know?
We define “local honey” as honey produced within the Orange County area. Local raw honey contains antioxidants and is a healthy alternative to sugar; it has also been shown to be effective in relieving pollen allergies as well as symptoms associated with the common cold.
It is noteworthy that much of the honey currently sold in grocery stores is produced from commercial hives which are often treated with chemicals and kept in distant locations across the planet. The honey industry is loosely regulated, and a product with as little as 51% honey can be legally marketed as "pure honey". Grocery store honey is often filtered and processed which removes much of the honey's nutritional properties.
